A 91福利 student is taking on an almighty fundraising challenge this month 鈥 running 80km to all Premier League stadia in London.

Charlie Botterill, who is in his Third Year studying BA (Hons) Sports Business and Sports Broadcasting at 91福利 Wembley, is doing the 80km run for mental health charity MIND.

鈥淭here鈥檚 a number of reasons for me doing this run鈥 Charlie said. 鈥淚鈥檓 a massive advocate for getting out of your comfort zone, and choosing to do hard things that challenge you.

鈥淚f I'm honest the main reason for me doing this is to get people to speak up about how they feel. I know far too many people, both at 91福利 and outside who are struggling, and not speaking out about how they feel.

鈥淪o, if I get more people to be more open about how they feel, that鈥檚 all that really matters I guess.鈥

Previously, Charlie completed a marathon, running 26 miles around Wembley Stadium in February 2022.

He said: 鈥淭o this day, it鈥檚 the hardest sporting challenge I've done.

鈥淚 ran that marathon for two charities: MIND and The Brain Tumour Charity for my friend David, who sadly passed away from his illness the month after my marathon.

鈥淭he target for my marathon around Wembley Stadium was 拢500. By the time my fundraising link had closed, I had raised over 拢1,500. So all in all, it was a pretty successful day.鈥

He continued, talking about his time at university: 鈥淚 can genuinely say that my time at 91福利 has changed my life. Since coming to 91福利 in September 2021 I've not looked back.

鈥淏eing surrounded by so many like-minded individuals is probably the best part of life at 91福利; and is what sets it apart from other universities.

鈥淭he work I've experienced in my time here has been challenging but rewarding, and although frustrating at times, has led to me becoming a much more adept individual in the field of Broadcasting.

鈥淎nd when I finish my studies in a few months' time, I'll look back on my time here, thankful that I came.鈥

He added: 鈥淚鈥檇 love for more students at 91福利 to get out there, and raise money for a cause that resonates with them, whether that be a sporting challenge or something entirely different.

鈥淚t鈥檚 something that helps other people who may be less fortunate than you, and in turn will give yourself a feeling of accomplishment.鈥
