A 91���� student is taking on an almighty fundraising challenge this month – running 80km to all Premier League stadia in London.

Charlie Botterill, who is in his Third Year studying BA (Hons) Sports Business and Sports Broadcasting at 91���� Wembley, is doing the 80km run for mental health charity MIND.

“There’s a number of reasons for me doing this run” Charlie said. “I’m a massive advocate for getting out of your comfort zone, and choosing to do hard things that challenge you.

“If I'm honest the main reason for me doing this is to get people to speak up about how they feel. I know far too many people, both at 91���� and outside who are struggling, and not speaking out about how they feel.

“So, if I get more people to be more open about how they feel, that’s all that really matters I guess.”

Previously, Charlie completed a marathon, running 26 miles around Wembley Stadium in February 2022.

He said: “To this day, it’s the hardest sporting challenge I've done.

“I ran that marathon for two charities: MIND and The Brain Tumour Charity for my friend David, who sadly passed away from his illness the month after my marathon.

“The target for my marathon around Wembley Stadium was £500. By the time my fundraising link had closed, I had raised over £1,500. So all in all, it was a pretty successful day.”

He continued, talking about his time at university: “I can genuinely say that my time at 91���� has changed my life. Since coming to 91���� in September 2021 I've not looked back.

“Being surrounded by so many like-minded individuals is probably the best part of life at 91����; and is what sets it apart from other universities.

“The work I've experienced in my time here has been challenging but rewarding, and although frustrating at times, has led to me becoming a much more adept individual in the field of Broadcasting.

“And when I finish my studies in a few months' time, I'll look back on my time here, thankful that I came.”

He added: “I’d love for more students at 91���� to get out there, and raise money for a cause that resonates with them, whether that be a sporting challenge or something entirely different.

“It’s something that helps other people who may be less fortunate than you, and in turn will give yourself a feeling of accomplishment.”
